I upgraded to Windows 7 Professional recently, but found that I couldn't enable Intel's My WiFi Utility that I used for wirelessly scanning from my HP Photosmart C4780 printer. Neither Intel nor HP support personnel had any solution to this problem. Intel stopped distributing the My WiFi Utility, so I presently use Intel's Dashboard wifi software to wirelessly print and then connect a cable to a USB port on my notebook PC to scan. Can I configure my PC to regain the ability to wirelessly scan from this printer to my PC? When I try to add a device using HP's software I'm getting an error message that reads, 'The PC and the printer are connected to different networks (192.168.16.0 and 192.168.16.128). They must be connected to the same network. This can happen when you use the manufacturer's default network name (SSID) and another nearby network is using the same name.' I can switch off my Verizon Jetpack modem that connects to Verizon's LTE 4G IP service before trying to add a device because its IP address (10.182.6.0) can also be picked up in this type of error message. I have disabled the Intel Centrino WiMAX 6250 adapter since I don't use it, but have left enabled the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6250 AGN network adapter. The SSID that Dashboard uses is not the manufacturer's default network name. Also, I have blocked all hardware addresses (MAC) that Dashboard has picked up, besides the address of my printer (f4ce466523e2), from accessing its wifi hotspot. Could one of the two Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapters be generating the IP address, 192.168.16.0? If so, should I disable one or both of these adapters? If disabling doesn't solve this problem, is another network adapter with a wifi utility on the market that I could download and install to solve this problem?

To be able to set up wireless printer configuration, there are three basic items that you need to have. They are a high-speed broadband Internet connection (with modem), a high speed wireless router and wireless network adaptors. Connect to it, allow it two minutes to connect and print a Wireless Report. Locate the IP Address and navigate it thorugh your browser, within the Wireless tab look for a Wireless Configuration or a Wireless Setup Wizard. Product Name: HP Photosmart C4780 This printer supports Wireless, however I cant figure out how to connect it to my wireless home network. I've found and followed the user guide instructions. HP was recently made aware of a vulnerability in certain inkjet printers by a third-party researcher. HP has updates available for download to address the vulnerability.
